2023 Defra air quality grant

Local authorities should now be considering applications of the 2023 Defra air quality grant in readiness for its publication, likely to be August-September. Previous year applications were split into two Lots, so its worth framing ideas around the following:

Lot 1. Projects to reduce air pollutant exceedances (primarily for nitrogen dioxide) especially in areas that are projected to remain in exceedance of the UK’s legislative targets.

Lot 2. Projects that improve knowledge and information about air quality and steps individuals can take to reduce their exposure to air pollution, and/or projects that include measures that deal with particulate matter.
